As we celebrate the spirit and history of Juneteenth, we are thrilled to invite all Carter Metropolitan “students” of all ages 4-101to join our Juneteenth Summer Reading Challenge!
From June 19 through August 3 you’re invited to dive into books of your choice—stories that inspire you, teach you, and make you dream big. Whether you love action, history, mystery, or stories that reflect our culture and heritage, this challenge is for YOU.
Here’s how it works:
- Whether you read independently or have someone read to you, aim to complete as many books as possible!
- Track your reading along the way
- Have your parent/guardian submit your completed books
What’s in it for you?
- A personalized certificate of achievement from Pastor Vee
- A special Juneteenth Commemorative Bookmark
- And… a prize for the top reader in each age group!
This is more than a reading challenge—it’s a celebration of freedom, growth, and the power of knowledge.

Instructions
The goal is simple: read as many books of your choice between June 1 and August.

Pick any books—fiction or nonfiction, classics or new releases—that inspire your curiosity and imagination. - TRACK YOUR PROGRESS
Download the official Juneteenth Summer Reading Challenge Reading Log and record each title as you finish. - CELEBRATE YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS
Every week, have a parent or guardian submit your completed log using the submission form below by Sunday evening of every week.
Prizes
All participants will receive a digital certificate, a personalized letter, and an A special Juneteenth Commemorative Bookmark, weekly prizes for every age group.
